BOINC Stats for SuperKaramba version 0.21

Thank you for choosing to download my BOINC Stats SuperKaramba widget.

Features

The widget offers the following features:

Requirements

  1. The widget needs an Internet connection in order to operate - it does not have to be an "always-on" connection, but you must be connected to the Internet when the widget is first loaded.
  2. KDialog

  5. An All-In-One Account user ID. If you do not have an All-In-One Account, simply sign-up here.
  6. SuperKaramba

Installation

Note: Make sure you have installed SuperKaramba before proceeding.

  1. The widget is contained in a tar file. Copy the tar file to the directory of choice (~/.superkaramba recommended).
  2. Extract the archive like so: tar xvf boinc.tar
  3. You should now have a "boinc" folder. You can remove the tar file if you wish.
  4. To launch the widget, either browse for the theme file from the SuperKaramba GUI, or type at a shell:
    superkaramba ~/.superkaramba/boinc/boinc.theme
  5. By default the user ID will be set to "1" (my user ID). To change to your user ID and to ge access to the other widget settings, right click the widget and choose "Configure Theme -> Configure theme".

Widget updates

Everytime your stats are updated, the version of your widget is checked against the latest available version. If a new version is available, you will be alerted.

If you download a new version, simply delete or overwrite the contents of your chosen installation directory (e.g. ~/.superkaramba/boinc).

Currently the widget will contact boinc.mundayweb.com for your stats every 8 hours.

Please do not modify the widget to increase the frequency of the updates as this will put an increased strain on my server and is not necessary as your stats are only updated once a day.
